Happy Birthday, son.” Greeted Mr. And Mrs Harrin.

Michael was so excited as he opened the birthday present.

“Oh! It is the robot that I wanted. Thanks mum and dad,” said Michael as he admired at the small and hi-tech robot. Michael named it Jimmy immediately.

After they sang the birthday song, Mr. Harrin received an emergency call. He told Michael:” I am going to Paris with mum for three weeks because of some emergency circumstances, we will call Aunt Sarah to take care of you when we left.”

By the same night, Mr. and Mrs. Harrin left and Aunt Sarah came.

Aunt Sarah was not the kind of person who always nagged around. She rather dwelled on her novel quietly.

Actually Jimmy, the robot, was very useful. It could help with the chores and it was smart. Soon, Jimmy and Michael became friends.

Unfortunately, Michael became very lazy because he always ordered Jimmy to do his homework.

Jimmy tried to advise Michael not be lazy but he did not listen. Jimmy became ‘very disappointed’.

School examination was approaching but Michael seemed to care least as he had already planned something, He indulged in playing all the time and he did not care to study for the examination.

Jimmy was ‘very sad’ and the warning light began to flash without Michael’s notice as he became so lazy even to look at Jimmy.

On the day of school examination, Michael wanted to bring Jimmy to school to help him with the examination questions. But he was so shock to find a ‘dead’ motionless and non-responsive robot sitting on a note, which read:

‘Goodbye Michael, the manufacturer had designed and built me to help and guide school children but not to spoil them, I would be incapacitated to function once the computer chip sensed ‘enough distressing’ signal that the owner of the robot is over dependent on me……….Thank you for buying intelligent robot from ChildRobot inc.’
